This Makes Perfect Sense

This is Barry. Barry, a man with no formal experience to speak of was elected to the highest office in the land.

No, this is not Pat. This is Elena. Elena, a woman with no formal experience to speak of has just been nominated to the highest court in the land.

I find Obama’s nomination of Kagan to be totally congruous on experience alone. Obama found election to the office of President not through experience or position of policy but rather by default from an accomplice media and a generous use of the race card. Why wouldn’t a man like this nominate an ultra-liberal butch with no practical experience whatsoever to the Supreme Court for the next 40 years give or take a decade?

Considering Obama’s previous appointment of Sonia Sotomayor – a woman who has openly expressed her belief that her race makes her better suited to decide cases than white men – one can understand why the President would appoint someone with literally no track record to reference.

The deck has been stacked, my friends.

This nomination comes as no surprise and your point is well taken - Kagan is as completely unqualified for the office as is Obama for the one that he holds.

My one source of uneasiness is that the nagging suspicion that Obama knows that this is such a ridiculous nomination that he expects that it will fail and he can then nominate another radical leftist with better judicial qualifications who will sail through after all of the conservatives' ammunition has been expended during an initial bitter confirmation battle.

Then again, is he that smart?

If your notion is true, it has nothing to do with “smart” more than being politically savvy. Regardless, I do not think this is the case. Rather, I find this decision to be much more short-sighted in the expectation that the media will not properly investigate this nomination (so far, this is the case), Congress will rubber-stamp this and confirm the nomination (this, I fear might be the case), and in turn this nominee will be a judicial rubber-stamp for Socialism, Inc.

While Republicans are currently hand-wringing at the idea of being painted as obstructionists if they dare filibuster this nomination, I contend that they will alienate their supporters if they do not. It is their solemn duty to allow nothing else from this administration to pass. This democrat Congress and President have done so much damage already – damage which will take generations to repair – that we simply cannot handle any more. It may already be too damaged to repair, but we should still be certain to stop those who intend to pour gasoline on the fire.

If Obama now believes that he can tame Congress to the point that they will rubber-stamp anything that he proposes - no matter how objectionable - then we are in deep, deep trouble for sure.

I agree - if the Republicans do not mount a spirited attack on this nomination, then the continuing damage to our nation and its principles and ideals will prove irreparable.

I think that this is nothing more complex than Obama remaining true to form. He always has, and alway will surround himself with a herd of far left zealots.
